The report generation life cycle is as follows:
- Requirement
Gathering: 3Icon representatives will meet with clients and gather all
the information necessary to establish the foundation of the project.
Customer goals, data sources and their accessibility as well
as business rules will all be identified at this point.
- Data
Extraction and Manipulation: Having obtained the pertinent information
during the Requirement Gathering phase, we are now ready to extract the
data. We will query the data sources (Oracle,
DB2, SQL Server 2000, Access, MySQL, text files) and use
powerful programming procedures in order to merge, sort, transpose and
otherwise manipulate the data to create the datasets which
will be basis of the report.
- Export
and Report Creation: After creating all the datasets needed, we can now
export them to the report's final format. This format will be at the
client's request. We work primarily with Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Due
to the fluid nature of business we realize that change is the rule more
often than the exception. For that reason 3Icon
offers most of our report creating solutions in an Ad Hoc capacity.
This allows us to better tailor our solutions to
the needs of our clients.
